So as I am pretty positive everyone knows, tonight is the first night of Channukah, as well as Christmas eve. From where I am right now, I don’t think it’s snowing anytime soon, but I could be wrong. So, I just wanted to put something really random out there, and that is this- Where did the notion that if you celebrate Channukah, you get eight times more presents come from!? I’m gonna break this down, as being Jewish, I just really wanted to explain this.
Channukah as eight nights. That means, that if you get a present from your parents, grandparents, friend, cousin, aunt, uncle, sister, and brother, all that happens is you get them on different nights. Instead of getting eight presents in one day, you get one a day. Another way to put this….If you break a cookie into pieces, guess what! You don’t really have anymore cookie than you did to start!
Hope this made sense to people–don’t get me wrong if you celebrate Christmas, I’m not, like, hating your religion, this is just the one I understand. 😉
